Well drilling is the process of drilling a hole in the ground for the extraction of natural sources such as ground water or natural gas. Well drilling can be done manually or mechanically and the equipment used can be extremely complicate. Most drilling techniques use long drill shafts, producing holes that are narrower and deeper than could be formed by digging manually.

An engineer called Ralph Neuhaus invented the tricone bit in 1933 which rotated and turned through the ground and soil to make a well. There are 3 categories for the different drill parts that can be used, and these depend on the ground and soil conditions; the soft, medium and hard formations bits. The soft formation bits are used for sand and clays, the medium formation bits are used for calcites, dolomites and hard shale and the hard formations bits are used in shale, mudstones, cherty limestone’s and abrasive formations.

The first ever wells to be made are the water wells. They date back to 8100-7500 BC during the Neolithic period. Nowadays water is removed from well using electric submersible pump or a mechanical pump.

Security bollards are designed to do a number of things. They can cordon off areas and direct traffic and pedestrians in a safe manner. They are used to enclose certain areas such as car spaces and can be used to prevent ram raids on shops. They are designed to be tough and hardwearing and most are made from iron or steel.

There are many advantages of security bollards and they are successfully used on our streets everyday. There are many different types of security bollards available on the market today such as the butt bollard, the high visibility bollard, the amortishock bollard and the fold down bollard.

The butt bollard is designed for smokers to put their cigarette ends into keeping the streets clean. The high visibility bollard has a welded aluminium top cap and is painted black with a white top so they are clearly seen. The amortishock bollard is a steel post with a spring loaded pivoting system that enables the post to withstand low speed vehicle impact. The fold down bollard is used to get into spaces that are saved, such as car spaces and can be folded down easily with a key.

Residential solar panels are now becoming popular energy saving alternatives. As the prices of the gas and electricity go up, a lot of people nowadays are starting to realize that these solar panels are truly great options for home lightings. Even homes that are far from power grids are benefited by the technology of such solar panels. Other homes are benefited since these residential power systems are a lot affordable nowadays.

Aside from its cost efficiency, these residential power systems are friendly for the environment. Tons of money’s saved from energy costs from such panels, as the utilization of gas and other sources of energy are minimalized. Another significant thing about these residential power systems is that they are also easily maintained and installed. Thus, majority of the houses that are equipped with residential solar panels are indeed enjoying the enormous amount of energy that these systems create. Hence, problems that arise from expensive electricity dues are resolved by of the utilization of these residential solar panels. Such power systems also aid in the conservation of power energy that are distributed to numerous homes.

Also, with the aid of high-technology today, homes using the power form solar panels are already capable of enjoying the pleasure of having multitudes of electrical appliances like TV sets and more. With the advanced photovoltaic systems (PV) of today, light conversion into energy has been faster and more efficient. Likewise, residential solar panels are improving a lot that even big appliances can now be used.

Grundfos is a company that says they are powered by the impossible. They say that because they believe that no task is without a solution. They do not just manufacture pumps they also work on the development of smarter, more efficient and high quality pumps that will answer all pumping needs.

The normal pumps being sold and used are D-grade pumps. Grundfos pumps are the only ones worthy of being A-labeled. Aside from the quality of materials being used in each and every part of their pumps, the sophistication of the design coupled with the ease of use of Grundfos pumps gives solutions beyond borders. The technological advancement of the designs help combat global warming by helping conserve energy.

Take the Alpha 2 technology for example. It is compact and easy to use. It has a one touch operation button as proof of its intelligence and user-friendliness. It also has a small LCD showing the current power consumption. If you ask me, this is neat because you know that you are saving even when you have a circulator. Also this system has an energy saver which switches on when the pump is in minimal use like at night. Also this has a built-in auto feature which you can turn on. When powered the auto feature analyses the optimum heating requirement and implements it. It is also very easy to install, just plug it and pump away. This and all Grundfos pumps are A-labelled, giving you reassurance that you are saving energy.

To save energy and combat global warming each can do a simple part such as switching t an A-labelled pump. It has been projected that if all pumps in Europe are Grundfos, 44 billion kWh will be saved per year.

Energy Saving Projects

Isn’t worthwhile to include in the design of any motor today additional equipment that saves you a lot of money in terms of energy consumption? According to research facts, sixty-five percent of electrical energy of industries is consumed by motors. Variable speed drive is created to suit this purpose. A variable speed drive is a form of an energy saving project wherein this piece of equipment is used to regulate the rotational force and speed or torque output of an electric motor. This energy saving project has bought about 115 million megawatt hours of electricity savings and also reduced carbon dioxide emission by 97 million tons per year.

The Pro-Energy AC Variable Speed Drives has a whole range of variable speed drive products that suits every size of motors in the industry. Among the range of sought-after variable speed drive in the market today is the Vacon speed drive. Consider this computation: if a 110 kwh motor is run at its 100% speed, 250 days a year at 10 hours per day and at 5 pence per kilowatt hour, the total electricity consumption cost will be ₤13,750.00. A motor with a Vacon variable speed drive will have the following computation:

100% speed for 25% of the time:
110kW * (1.00*1.00*1.00) * 625hrs * £0.05 = £ 3,437.50

80% speed for 50% of the time:
110kW * (0.80*0.80*0.80) * 1250hrs * £0.05 = £ 3,520.00

50% speed for 25% of the time:
110kW * (0.50*0.50*0.50) * 625hrs * £0.05 = £ 429.67

£ 3,437.50 + £ 3,520.00 + £ 429.67 = £ 7,387.19

Using the speed drive, the company can save as much as ₤6,362.81 in electricity cost per year. Order a Vacon Speed Drives at Pro-Energy AC Variable Speed Drivers and they’ve got a whole range of Valcon products you can choose from.
