Security Bollards
Security bollards are designed to do a number of things. They can cordon off areas and direct traffic and pedestrians in a safe manner. They are used to enclose certain areas such as car spaces and can be used to prevent ram raids on shops. They are designed to be tough and hardwearing and most are made from iron or steel.
There are many advantages of security bollards and they are successfully used on our streets everyday. There are many different types of security bollards available on the market today such as the butt bollard, the high visibility bollard, the amortishock bollard and the fold down bollard.
The butt bollard is designed for smokers to put their cigarette ends into keeping the streets clean. The high visibility bollard has a welded aluminium top cap and is painted black with a white top so they are clearly seen. The amortishock bollard is a steel post with a spring loaded pivoting system that enables the post to withstand low speed vehicle impact. The fold down bollard is used to get into spaces that are saved, such as car spaces and can be folded down easily with a key.
